Saw this great post about how LinkedIn (LI) is being corrupted by the Twitter nation:

My answer was to deactivate my Twitter account and not worry about quantity over quality in my status updates.
Thoughts?

Agree completely. I love
Agree completely. I love Twitter and am a regular user, but I can't envision any situation, ever, where connecting it to one's LinkedIn profile would improve the value of said LinkedIn profile.

I'm in the camp of keeping
I'm in the camp of keeping the big three (FB, LI, T..[There isn't a two letter for Twitter]) in separate. First off, for me, LinkedIn is a vital source of data on the professional status of my network. I'm a big proponent of "pass it on" and when a recruiter contacts me for a job I'm not suited for, I try and pass it on to someone I know it might fit. This is harder when your LI feed is flooded with Tweets.
Then there is what happens when you follow someone in more than one area. I have colleagues I greatly respect and I follow their Tweets as well as being connected to them on LI. I don't need to see your Tweets in LI, I'm reading them on Twitter.
When I post a new blog, I will usually tailor my announcement for each venue. For Twitter it's short and catchy. LI I give a little more hook and on FB I've even posted the first paragraph.
A big supporter of LI and Twitter, a begrudging user of FB and a big proponent of keeping them separate.

One way street, LI -> Twitter only.
I do have my LI status updates forwarded to Twitter but would not want my Tweets posted to LI. It's not that there are any tweets I wouldn't want a future employer to see. It's just that my tweets are a mixture of some serious stuff (mostly forwarded from my LI status updates) and a lot of light hearted fun stuff about films and TV shows I like (and a lot of retweets). My LI connections don't need to know what TV shows I like or see the conversations I have with other people who like or are connected with those shows. If they were interested they would look at my Twitter stream.
There are a couple of my connections who do have their Tweets posted to LI and I'm finding it somewhat annoying. Most of the tweets are Cricket related so have no interest to me.
Twitter and LI are different beasts.
