Resources for Teaching / Coaching basic professional skills

Hello,

I work in at a services company that regularly has team members working on-site at large client sites. We are hiring rapidly, but often hiring young entry-level employees. Our service leads are teaching the technical skills, but are struggling to teach the sort of "basic professional skills" that many of us take for granted, espeically in a services industry. Things like

  • Move at an appropriate speed for a services company (i.e. "sense of urgency to customer requests")
  • Turn in time sheets and expense reports on time
  • Don't make committments to customers that you can't keep
  • Don't use inappropriate language on customer sites

Does anyone have some good resources (books, podcasts, etc) that they use for these skills? There are some Career Tools podcasts that address some of this, but a lot of these things are more basic level than most MT/CT podcasts cover.

Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

I personally am not aware of any basics of professionalism courses like you describe. I ask my supervisors to add this type of information to their onboarding meetings with new directs.
