I will be interviewing for a Product Management role for hardware products. The roles and responsibilities are a perfect fit for my past successes and are what I enjoy doing. The industry is in a type of product of which I have no professional experience.
QUESTION: Is it ever appropriate and a good idea to bring up businesses I ran in the past that have applicable experience to the role I am interviewing for?
Thank you.
Doug

I would think so!
Relevant experience is relevant experience.
Just because you worked in a different industry and crafted different products, doesn't mean you have nothIng to bring to the table. Especially with past P&L responsibility, you can bring in insights from 'non-product' concerns into your planning and your interactions with those who will sell and deliver and maintain what you specify.
